The NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights have banned beards for players

Reports coming from Las Vegas say their new NHL team, the Golden Knights, have implemented a no-beard policy for their players.

The NHL has only been in Las Vegas for a couple months so they may not understand too much hockey culture, but someone should probably inform them that hockey players and beards are like pancakes and syrup. They just go together!

Reports say the reason behind the decision comes from a desire for Golden Knights' players to be more recognizable to their new fans, which makes some sense except for the fact they are hockey players!

In fact, team captain Derek Engelland has been rocking some pretty solid face fuzz lately.

Alternate captain Clayton Stoner also has a pretty sweet beard going.

But apparently, those days are over.

“We just got some team policies here, we got to keep it tight,” Engelland told the Vegas Insiders radio show after practice, adding that his wife texted him to say that she misses his burly beard. “I’m going to follow our rules and expectations and trim it up a little bit.”

No word yet if the policy will change if the Golden Knights ever make the playoffs.
