Apple’s CEO Tim Cook started the watch part of the presentation by revealing that the Apple Watch has become the number one watch brand in the world.
Arguably the biggest change to the Apple Watch is that it will now have cellular connectivity built in.
That means you can make phone calls, send text messages, use Siri, stream music and a whole lot more without having to rely on Wi-Fi.
Speaking of Siri, she will now be able to talk through the Apple Watch instead of just communicating through text.
The focus on the Apple Watch is health and the newest version will have a lot of upgrades in that department.
There will be new heart rate sampling, which provides a better resting heart rate measurement and notifies you if you have an elevated heart rate while not being active.
Heart rhythm will also now be measured by the Apple Watch, which will help protect people from arrhythmia.
Apple also introduced a new colour for the watch, as you’ll be able to get it in a dark grey ceramic now.
The new Apple Watch Series 3 is $399 with cellular and $329 without and you can pre-order on September 15th ahead of a September 22nd release date.
