Health Canada has issued a nationwide recall for the Belkin Portable Wireless Charger and Stand Special Edition.
“A manufacturing defect in the power supply unit can cause the charger to malfunction and overheat, posing fire and electric shock hazards,” explains the recall notice.
Consumers should immediately stop using the product and return it to Belkin for a full refund.
There have been 221 units of the affected product sold in Canada, all between July and October 2020.
A unit includes a portable wireless charger, a charging stand and a power supply unit.
Fortunately, there have been no reports in Canada at this time of incidents or injuries from this product.
