Freezing rain warning issued for Coquihalla, Connector and other B.C. highways

It’s won’t be an ideal day to be travelling on B.C. highways.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement regarding the risk of freezing rain over multiple highway passes.

A post shared by Sabinah (@sab_raf) on

The special weather statement reads:

“A warm front will move across the southern Interior today. Precipitation over the highway passes will start as snow and change to rain late in the day as the freezing levels rise. This warm front will also bring the risk of freezing rain today and this evening, which could result in icy road conditions.”

The warning is in place for the following highways:

  • The Okanagan Connector - Merritt to Kelowna
  • The Coquihalla Highway - Hope to Kamloops
  • Highway 3 - Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass
  • Highway 3 - Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass
  • Trans-Canada Highway - Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass

You can find your most up to date highway and driving conditions on DriveBC’s website.
