Another batch of decades-old temperature records has been broken in British Columbia.
Environment Canada said the following areas made heat history on Wednesday:
Burns Lake: Preliminary new record of 31.5ºC; old record of 29.6ºC set in 1988
Cache Creek: Preliminary new record of 40.8ºC; old record of 35ºC set in 1988
Clearwater: Preliminary new record of 36.4ºC; old record of 33.9ºC set in 1950
Clinton: Preliminary new record of 34.3ºC; old record of 31.5ºC set in 1988
Cranbrook: Preliminary new record of 35.3ºC; old record of 34.9ºC set in 2017
Kamloops: Preliminary new record of 36.9ºC; old record of 34.5ºC set in 1988
Kelowna: Preliminary new record of 35.9ºC; old record of 34.8ºC set in 1998
Lillooet: Preliminary new record of 38.7ºC; old record of 37.2ºC set in 1934
Lytton: Preliminary new record of 39.8ºC; old record of 38.7ºC set in 1988
Mackenzie: Preliminary new record of 28.8ºC; old record of 28.6ºC set in 1988
Merritt: Preliminary new record of 38.7ºC; old record of 38.5ºC set in 1988
Nelson: Preliminary new record of 39.8ºC; old record of 35.8ºC set in 2017
