“Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain,” reads the alert from Environment Canada.

There is also a special air quality statement for several areas in the BC Interior because of wildfire smoke.

The special air quality statement covers the following areas:

  • Duncan: extends from Ladysmith to Shawnigan Lake.
  • Fraser Canyon (north): includes Lillooet and Andersen Lake.
  • Fraser Canyon (south): Trans Canada Hwy 1 from Lytton to Dogwood Valley.
  • South Thompson: Includes Kamloops, Rayleigh, Monte Creek, Cache Creek, Spences Bridge and Logan Lake.
