Severe thunderstorm watch issued for parts of Okanagan, Thompson and Boundary regions

For the second consecutive day, Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for a large portion of the BC Interior.

The latest watch covers parts of the Thompson, Okanagan and Boundary regions and includes Osoyoos, Penticton, Kelowna, Vernon, Kamloops and surrounding areas.

“Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and heavy rain,” reads the announcement from Environment Canada.

“When thunder roars, go indoors! Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year.”
