There were 44 temperature records set in B.C. over the long weekend

It was a hot long weekend across B.C. and the numbers back it up.

According to Environment Canada, 44 temperatures records were broken on Sunday and Monday, with most coming on what was a scorching holiday Monday.

Only seven of those were set on Sunday, with Nelson leading the way with a high temperature of 35.8°C, shattering its previous record of 32.2°C in 1931.

Things really ramped up on Monday as 22 daily maximum temperature records were set, but that wasn’t all.

Another 15 daily minimum temperatures were broken on Monday as temperatures didn’t fall below 15°C in a number of cities and towns.
