Weather pattern moving across the BC Interior to bring heavy snow to Hwy 1

Another snowfall warning is in place for the Trans-Canada Highway between the Shuswap and Golden.

Environment Canada issued the warning early Friday morning.

Up to 15 centimetres of snow is expected to fall between the Eagle Pass and Rogers Pass on Friday.

“A weather system moving across the BC interior will bring snow, heavy at times, to the region today. Snow will ease late this evening,” Environment Canada said.

Motorists are advised that visibility will likely be reduced at times.

Highway 1 has been hit with heavy snow this month.

On Tuesday, the third snowfall warning in a week was issued.

That heavy snow led to a 14 hour closure of the highway to allow for avalanche control work.
