Kamloops is in for a sunny, brisk weekend, but there’s some winter weather on the way before that.
According to Environment Canada, an arctic front will move across the southwest interior on Thursday.
As a result, snow will develop overnight on Wednesday across most of the region, which includes an expected 10 to 15 cm of snow on interior highway passes.
Locally, a mix of rain and snow is expected in Kamloops on Thursday.
Environment Canada calls for two to five centimetres of snow and mixed in with some rain throughout the day on Thursday, with some wind in the mix and a high of 3°C.
That weather will continue overnight as it drops down to below freezing and Friday will see a high of 0°C with a 60% chance of flurries.
Once again, that’ll continue overnight as it drops all the way down to -7°C.
It’ll dry up over the weekend though, but don’t expect any warm weather to come with that as the high of both Saturday and Sunday is 0°C, with lows of -7°C and -6°C overnight.
Be extra careful driving over the next few days, especially if you’re heading to higher elevations, and if the snow does come be sure to tag your winter wonderland pictures with #KamloopsBCNow.
