Hundreds of people lined up on Friday to welcome the first Tim Hortons to Mexico.
The cafe and bake shop opened at Fashion Drive Mall in San Pedro Garza, Nuevo León.
Approximately 300 guests lined up to be the first to try baked goods and coffee from the iconic Canadian chain.
The first guest will surely be trying it a lot more, as Aldo Gómez Montemayor arrived the night before to ensure he was first in line, and he received free coffee for a year for his efforts.
The most popular beverages from opening day were the classic double double, as well as French vanilla cappuccinos, and unsurprisingly, Timbits were the most popular food.
There were also a few treats added to the menu, specifically created for guests in Mexico, which include conchas and Mexican hot chocolate.
Over 1,000 people had visited the country’s first Tim Hortons by the time all was said and done on opening day.
Tim Hortons has more than 4,600 restaurants worldwide, including locations in Canada, the United States, Middle East, Philippines, Great Britain and now Mexico.
