Legally Blonde’s 'Bruiser Woods' Passes Away

Legally Blonde fans will be sad to learn that “Bruiser Woods,” the adorable Chihuahua from Legally Blonde, has passed away.

Actress Reese Witherspoon, who starred in 2001 film, shared the sad news on her Instagram page.

With a sad heart, I have to let all the #LegallyBlonde fans know that Bruiser Woods (also known as Moonie) passed away yesterday. He was a sweet little Chihuahua who was very loved. I will never forget all the days we spent together ... I'm sure his tail is wagging in the sky. Sending love to his trainer, the wonderful @tailsticks #RIPBruiser 💔

Moonie played Bruiser Woods in Legally Blonde and Legally Blonde 2. He was the right-hand pup for Witherspoon’s character, Elle Woods.

“He was a sweet little Chihuahua who was very loved,” Witherspoon wrote.

“I will never forget all the days we spent together… I’m sure his tail is wagging in the sky.”

Moonie’s trainer, Sue Chipperton, shared the news on her Facebook page, saying the dog was 18-years old. Chipperton began working with the dog as a puppy, and helped him reach Hollywood success.

“Reese loved him,” Chipperton said.

“She would do anything for him to help him succeed in any scene they shared.”
