Venture Kamloops has launched a brand-new program dedicated to assisting local start-up businesses.
This program aims at giving new businesses the opportunity to experience a live test of their business plan prior to signing on to any long-term lease!
The VK Accelerate Program will provide select local entrepreneurs with a unique platform to showcase their business to the public in a short-term storefront location within downtown Kamloops.
Entrepreneurs will benefit from business start-up coaching and strategy, business marketing, interior design and a bricks and mortar location to test the business.
“We are thrilled to unveil this unique start-up business program and announce our first business who has piloted the program with Venture Kamloops, Far and Wide,” says Nicole Bruce, Economic Development Manager at Venture Kamloops.
Far and Wide is a new experiential retail shop that has benefitted from Venture Kamloops.
“Now that we have had a chance to pilot the program with Far & Wide, we are ready to launch the program city wide. Those best-suited to take part in this new program are first-time entrepreneurs, home-based business owners or online business owners wanting to incorporates experiential shopping or authentic, local goods and services and who have a viable long-term business concept. We are looking for entrepreneurs who have a creative business idea and would benefit from the professional advice of the VK Accelerate Program while testing the market prior to signing a long-term lease” says Bruce.
“Applicants will require a comprehensive business plan, financing and a drive to step out into the marketplace. We look forward to working with creative entrepreneurs in our area and assisting them in beginning their retail journey”.
