The City is inviting residents to a celebration of the future centre of the arts this weekend.
The event will be held on Monday, July 29 from 5-7 pm at 393 Seymour Street and is entry by donation.
That is the location of the future Kamloops Centre for the Arts, which city council committed $7 million to in early February.
“This open-air gathering at the site of the future KCA will showcase local arts and culture organizations and highlight the wide range of future opportunities at this flagship facility,” the city says.
Attendees can enjoy live music and entertainment, food vendors and a bar, interactive displays and activities and a public address from local dignitaries.
Entertainment will include performances from the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra, Let’s Move Studio and Kamloops Film Society.
There will be an all-ages interactive musical play zone and Western Canada Theatre has invited some favourite local performers to play tour guides, box office staff, and backstage performers to give attendees a view of life at the Kamloops Centre for the Arts.
Food and beverages will be provided by The Vic and Amplified, Bright Eye Brewing, Monte Creek Winery, Nandi’s Kitchen and Bar, Casa Azul and more.
