Kamloops residents looking to experience showbiz won't have to go very far this weekend.
A new "pandemic thriller" is set to close part of downtown on Sunday. Directed by Kamloops-native Ken Hegan, "Outrunners" will tell the story about a determined young woman who is trying to save her mother's life during a global pandemic.
Scenes from the comedy thriller will be shot on 4th Avenue and Victoria Street, meaning the area will be closed between 6 am and 8 pm.
The production company is also expected to film more of downtown as well as Brocklehurst. This will be Hegan's sixth feature screenplay but first as lead director.
