A popular shoe store in the Aberdeen Mall is getting ready to leave.
"Call It Spring" will be permanently closing its doors. It is one of many retailers that has packed up amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Representatives from the store explained that the closure could take anywhere from three months to a year. No new orders have been put in for the fall, so they have speculated that to be the end.
Earlier this year, the Aldo Group, which owns Call It Spring, announced they were going into bankruptcy protection in an effort to save the company.
"Like many other fashion retailers, we have been operating in a challenging retail environment over the last several years," wrote the company in a May release. "Two years ago, we designed and began executing a comprehensive plan to restructure the business. We were making strong progress, but the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has put too much pressure on our business."
