The Mustard Seed Kamloops is getting back into the thrifting game!
According to a news release, the Mustard Seed is now accepting used clothing, jewellery, decorations, and more to prepare for the opening of a new thrift store. The store, which will be located at 346 Seymour Street, is set to open its doors this spring.
In addition to the store, a coffee shop will open in the area later in the year. Diana Corriveau was hired as the store's coordinator due to her vast knowledge of retail.
“The Mustard Seed Thrift Store will be a huge asset to our community,” said Corriveau. “My goal is to get donor’s treasures into loving homes, while generating revenue to provide much-needed funds for our Mustard Seed patrons. Having moved from Eastern Canada 6 months ago, I am inspired by the generous, kind-hearted, loving community members that live here. I am looking forward to meeting and serving customers from this amazing city.”
The store will also bring employment opportunities for frequent visitors to the Mustard Seed, including patrons of the newly launched Men's Sober Living Facility. Residents looking to volunteer at the store should only expect to work nine to 12 hours of the week for the first few months.
Starting today, residents can drop off gently used items to 346 Seymour Street between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm or to 181 Victoria Street from Tuesday to Saturday between 11 am and 7 pm.
