RCMP investigating gunshot fired in Kelowna home

Kelowna RCMP are reporting that a gunshot was fired inside a home on Monday.

According to police, officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of Sutherland Avenue just after 8:30 p.m. for a report of a shot fired from within the homes basement suite.

Upon arrival on the scene police detained four individuals who told officers that an altercation ensued after two men entered the home.

“The investigation remains in its early stages,” states Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey of the Kelowna RCMP.

“The incident is believed to be targeted, therefore the public is not at risk.”

Police will remain at the scene on Tuesday while officers conduct a full investigation.
