The Kelowna Farmers’ and Crafters’ Market is getting into the holiday spirit.
Over the next two Saturday markets, attendees can expect a whole lot of holly jolly surprises when collecting their weekly grocery haul.
“It is the festive season and it just brings out the goodness in people, makes them feel good and it's just a great feeling to come out and have some fun,” said Market Coordinator, Frances Callaghan.
This Saturday, attendees can expect live music inside the Parkinson Rec Centre, goodies for the little ones, festive attire from vendors and returning market traditions.
Back for another year of light-hearted competition is “Find the Pickle.” The holiday game where shoppers have to scope out a small sparkling dill pickle ornament that is placed in various spots around the market, for a chance to win a prize.
Once found, the lucky winner will receive some market bucks to add to their haul.
Visitors with children can pay a visit to the market staff after they’ve finished shopping to pick up a take-home ornament to decorate.
But perhaps the best sign of holiday cheer has to be the festive outfits sported by a few of the vendors. From light up sweaters to elf and santa hats, you’re sure to leave each booth feeling merry and bright.
Come Saturday, Dec. 22, those who visit the market will be in for a treat — literally!
Attendees will be added into a draw for a chance to win a full turkey dinner, with all the fixings, donated by various market vendors. The winner will be drawn at noon.
And of course, you can always expect some fun for the kids, as they will get to decorate festive cookies to munch on while you get your last minute, fresh additions to your holiday feast.
Whether you need fresh ingredients for meal prepping, last minute stocking stuffers or a dose of holiday cheer, the market is a great place to visit for all your needs this holiday season. The market runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. both inside and outside of the Parkinson Recreation Centre.
