Dirty Mutter, a Tough Mudder style event created especially for the doggos that love to play outside, is back for another year of fun in the sun, frolicking in the mud and philanthropy.

Scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 8, the event created by Dustyn Baulkham (Rebellious Unicorns Events) and Rhonda Laturnus (Results 4 Life Fitness) invites pets and their owners for a day of bonding and supporting Paws It Forward Pet Rescue.

After an impressive first year that welcomed over 100 participants and managed to muster up a cool $12,000 for charity — Dirty Mutter is back and better than ever!

“I honestly don’t think last year could have gone any better, the goal we set for it was to raise $10,000 through 200 people and we managed to raise more than that with less people — it was very exciting,” said co-organizer, Dustyn Baulkham.

For the event’s sophomore year, Baulkham says they have plans to expand the obstacle course, which will again be hosted at the Results 4 Life Fitness acreage in Black Mountain.

“Last year was very well received and really the only feedback we got was that some participants wished the course was longer — so we are adding a whole new section, which will expand it by over 30%!” he said.

Not only will the course be getting bigger but so will the fundraising efforts, as a goal of $20,000 has been set to support Paws It Forward in the work they do to rescue and care for dogs looking for their ‘furever’ homes.

In addition to spending a day prancing through the mud, attendees and their four-legged companions can look forward to browsing various vendors booths from local pet suppliers such as Tail Blazers.
