A lot of people are finding creative ways to try and stay healthy while stuck at home during the COVID-19 pandemic and the YMCA of Okanagan is here to lend a helping hand.
The organization has launched a series of online services to continue giving the community a way to achieve their health and wellness goals.
“We are committed to supporting individuals with their health goals, which include providing resources for their mental, physical and emotional health during this pandemic,” said Sharon Peterson, CEO of the YMCA of Okanagan.
“Our commitment to you, is that we will continue to provide opportunities for you and your family to stay connected and active throughout this difficult time.”
Peterson said that, like everyone, the YMCA is also trying to adjust to a “new normal” during these difficult times.
The virtual offering is called Y Thrive Home and it includes a variety of online fitness classes for people of all ages.
“This is an excellent free online platform to help keep all of us healthy and active,” says Peterson.
“Everyone is welcome and workouts are tailored for all levels and audiences including adults, families, kids and seniors.”
You can see a list of the classes on the YMCA of Okanagan website and there are also live fitness classes being done through Facebook and Instagram.
