Mounties on Vancouver Island are investigating a report of a sexual assault on a youth.
According to West Shore RCMP, the alleged incident occurred around 3 pm on Tuesday, June 9, in the area of Jacklin Road and Station Avenue in Langford.
“A female youth was approached by an unknown adult male suspect at a bus stop, who engaged the youth in a short conversation before sexually assaulting her,” an RCMP release explained.
“While no physical injuries were reported in this instance, investigators recognize the significant emotional and psychological impact sexual violence can have on victims.”

The investigation is ongoing and police have been canvassing the area for more information.
Mounties are asking residents who live in the area, or who may have been driving through, to check surveillance or dash cam footage between noon and 4 pm for potential leads.
“We understand incidents of this nature are highly impactful and concerning for the victim and community,” noted A/Sgt. Meghan Groulx. “Identifying the person responsible remains our top priority and investigators are following up on a number of leads."
