Chantelle Desrosiers is speaking tomorrow night at the School District 23 board meeting and airing her concerns about the grade reconfigurations planned in the Central Okanagan Public Schools for September 2018.
Desrosiers says she's speaking on behalf of concerned West Kelowna parents and states they will be speaking as one voice.
"We are not requesting that our presence on the agenda be an opportunity to reiterate questions and concerns that have already been voiced," stated Desrosiers in a letter to the board, requesting she be added to tomorrow night's agenda. "We would like to see the decision on grade reconfiguration be set aside until the School District No. 23 policies regarding changes of this matter and magnitude are adhered to."
In late February, the Board of Trustees voted in favour of grade reconfiguration on the westside to be implemented this year instead of the planned September 2019 date.
Chairperson and trustee, Moyra Baxter, understands there is a range of reactions and emotions on the topic. Baxter approved Desrosiers' request to be heard at tomorrow night's meeting.
The Public Board Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 14 at 6 p.m., but is no longer being held at the School Board Office.
Instead, the meeting has been moved to the Hollywood Road Education Services, at 1040 Hollywood Road South in Room 1.
