Hotel 540 will undergo major rebranding and renovations this year.
National Hospitality Group announced today that it has entered into a franchise agreement with Marriott International that will see Hotel 540 transformed into a Delta by Marriott.
The downtown Kamloops property will undergo a major renovation, including all guest rooms, corridors, lobby and public areas, National Hospitality Group announced in a media release.
Details of the project will follow later in the spring, but the company said the hotel will be repositioned with the new brand in time for spring 2019.
The hotel at 540 Victoria St. remains under the ownership and management of National Hospitality Group, but will benefit from the full-service Delta Hotels brand, including SPG and Marriott Rewards Program.
This announcement comes alongside other big changes for the 500 block of Victoria Street, where National Hospitality Group also has plans to construct a six-storey office building on one of its empty lots adjacent to Hotel 540.
“Hotel 540’s next step as a Delta by Marriott property will complement our adjacent 580 Victoria project, Kamloops’ newest upscale office building; and advance our plans to revitalize the 500 block of Victoria Street: plus re-establishing Kamloops’ downtown core” said Bryan Pilbeam, vice-president and general manager of National Hospitality.
The “reinvigorated property” will be Delta’s only hotel in the Kamloops area. Delta Hotels is a B.C.-originated Canadian brand.
