Woman assaulted and robbed in downtown Kamloops, police say

Kamloops Mounties are investigating the alleged robbery of a woman by two men.

The incident is said to have occurred just after midnight on July 7.

According to police, the woman was walking back to her car on Victoria Street – between 4th Avenue and 6th Avenue – when she was pushed over and assaulted by the men.

A woman was also with the men, police said.

The RCMP said the victim’s personal effects were stolen and that she was injured during the incident.

The suspects are said to have then fled on foot toward Lansdowne Street.

According to police, the men were:

  • White, with dark hair

  • Average build

  • About 5 ft 9 in

  • Wearing baggy jeans and hoodies

The woman who was with the men was described as 5 ft 4 in with an average-to-thin build.

“There are a number of businesses in and around that area,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelynn.

“It is our hope that someone’s video surveillance captured something that will help us identify the suspects.”

Anyone with information related to this investigation is asked to call the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2022-23365.
