Identity in Kamloops Inmate Death Confirmed

Daryl Vic Belseck has been identified as the prisoner who died in his cell earlier this week at the Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre.

BC Coroners Service confirmed that Mr. Belseck's body was discovered by staff at the facility but his death is not considered suspicious at this time.

The investigation into the death of the 52 year old inmate is still ongoing.

BC Corrections spokesperson Cindy Rose emphasized earlier that any death in a BC Corrections centre is taken very seriously and extended her condolences to the family.
