Blues force game 7 against the Winnipeg Jets

A day after watching the Toronto Maple Leafs and Edmonton Oilers advance in the playoffs, the Winnipeg Jets hoped to do the same, but the St. Louis Blues had other plans.

The series was in St. Louis on Friday and the Blues opened the scoring with Philip Broberg’s first goal of the postseason early in the opening frame.

Nearly 20 minutes later and on a man advantage, the Jets evened the score on a second-period Cole Perfetti goal.

The 1-1 score was short-lived as St. Louis got back on the board five minutes later, beginning a flurry of goals.

In the blink of an eye, the Blues scored four total goals to take a 5-1 lead.

Nino Niederreiter got the Jets back on the scoresheet in the third period, but that was all they would get as the Blues kept their season alive to force a game seven in Winnipeg on Sunday.

There is one NHL game scheduled for today as Colorado takes on Dallas in a game seven at 5 pm.
